This study Identifies the distinctive characteristics of people experiencing homelessness or using shelters in Korea, The purpose of this research is to describe the demographic traits, socioeconomic status, health status, and family & social relations in Korea. Findings from cross-sectional studies in Korea conducted during the past several years have added much to our understanding of characteristics of homeless populations. Although significant regional differences exist, it may be useful to offer a summary statistical sketch compiled from the studies that have been done. These findings lead to several policy suggestions. Including construction of new shelters, provisions for job counseling, increase of public projects and job creation to provide them with work. Fourth, provisions should be developed which recogmze the causes and consequences of homeless people and seek to deal with these issues through a range of services delivered in partnership between the volunteer and public sectors.
